  4. Our Pledge
  5. ==========
  6. In the interest of fostering an open and welcoming environment, we as
  7. contributors and maintainers pledge to making participation in our project and
  8. our community a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, body
  9. size, disability, ethnicity, sex characteristics, gender identity and
  10. expression, level of experience, education, socio-economic status, nationality,
  11. personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual identity and orientation.
  12. Our Standards
  13. =============
  14. Examples of behavior that contributes to creating a positive environment
  15. include:
  16. * Using welcoming and inclusive language
  17. * Being respectful of differing viewpoints and experiences
  18. * Gracefully accepting constructive criticism
  19. * Focusing on what is best for the community
  20. * Showing empathy towards other community members
  21. Examples of unacceptable behavior by participants include:
  22. * The use of sexualized language or imagery and unwelcome sexual attention or
  23. advances
  24. * Trolling, insulting/derogatory comments, and personal or political attacks
  25. * Public or private harassment
  26. * Publishing others’ private information, such as a physical or electronic
  27. address, without explicit permission
  28. * Other conduct which could reasonably be considered inappropriate in a
  29. professional setting
  30. Our Responsibilities
  31. ====================
  32. Maintainers are responsible for clarifying the standards of acceptable behavior
  33. and are expected to take appropriate and fair corrective action in response to
  34. any instances of unacceptable behavior.
  35. Maintainers have the right and responsibility to remove, edit, or reject
  36. comments, commits, code, wiki edits, issues, and other contributions that are
  37. not aligned to this Code of Conduct, or to ban temporarily or permanently any
  38. contributor for other behaviors that they deem inappropriate, threatening,
  39. offensive, or harmful.
  40. Scope
  41. =====
  42. This Code of Conduct applies both within project spaces and in public spaces
  43. when an individual is representing the project or its community. Examples of
  44. representing a project or community include using an official project e-mail
  45. address, posting via an official social media account, or acting as an appointed
  46. representative at an online or offline event. Representation of a project may be
  47. further defined and clarified by project maintainers.
  48. Enforcement
  49. ===========
  50. Instances of abusive, harassing, or otherwise unacceptable behavior may be
  51. reported by contacting the Code of Conduct Committee at
  52. <conduct@kernel.org>. All complaints will be reviewed and investigated
  53. and will result in a response that is deemed necessary and appropriate
  54. to the circumstances. The Code of Conduct Committee is obligated to
  55. maintain confidentiality with regard to the reporter of an incident.
  56. Further details of specific enforcement policies may be posted
  57. separately.
