  1. This is a summary of the changes in KTIGCC since the first alpha release:
  2. CVS HEAD (2008-01-15):
  3. * Added a full changelog (generated from CVS logs).
  4. * Fixed stray indentation at the end of the line when autoclosing a curly brace
  5. as ENTER is pressed.
  6. * Ported to KDE 4.0.0.
  7. * Fixed highlighting update when moving a file to Header Files from another
  8. editable category. (The first character was read from the wrong buffer.)
  9. * Fixed extra newline incorrectly added each time a file is saved.
  10. * Don't hardcode ~/.kde for the KDE(4)HOME directory.
  11. * Fixed missing word wrap on the data variable reloc label in Program Options.
  12. * Fixed A68k items in the New menu being shown even when A68k is not installed.
  13. * Don't grab the keyboard globally (stealing key presses from other apps) in the
  14. Errors&Warnings pane, only override the Ctrl+C and Ctrl+Ins accelerators.
  15. * Fixed adding to the recent file list getting confused by changes to the list
  16. from other KTIGCC instances.
  17. * Fixed the wrong recent file getting opened when opening triggers save prompt.
  18. * Now using the builtin pucrunch support in the latest ld-tigcc instead of
  19. ttpack and ttbin2oth. This also adds support for outputting unwrapped binaries
  20. for compressed files.
  21. * Now using the new ld-tigcc switch --output-data-var to set the data variable
  22. file name on the computer instead of the old renaming hack.
  23. * Non-ASCII characters in on-calc file names are now passed to ld-tigcc in
  24. urlencoded form (more portable).
  25. * Ctrl+Return now works for "Open file at cursor" (not just Ctrl+Numpad Enter)
  26. * Now generating smaller syntax highlighting descriptions for mixes of
  27. case-sensitive and case-insensitive word lists (using new KatePart feature).
  28. * KTIGCC no longer installs into the $TIGCC prefix, instead a regular prefix is
  29. used. The default is /usr/local. It can be set by setting the $PREFIX
  30. environment variable or setting it in the qmake command line (e.g.
  31. qmake-qt4 PREFIX=/usr).
  32. * Fixed infinite loop when parsing user headers including each other for
  33. completion information.
  34. * Made the Errors and Warnings pane non-detachable.
  35. KTIGCC 1.06 (2006-11-25):
  36. * Added Anjuta 2 project, removed Anjuta 1 project.
  37. * Fixed missing layout in the Operating System tab of the Program Options
  38. dialog.
  39. * Fixed wrong length computations when writing to a file in UTF-8 or other
  40. multibyte charsets. (This broke debugging information for projects in a path
  41. containing non-ASCII characters.)
  42. * Added tas to the default Integer Arithmetic instructions.
  43. * Added xdef, globl, altmacro and noaltmacro to the default GNU as directives.
  44. * Ctrl+Tab/Ctrl+G now skips the project root and the categories.
  45. * When saving a project for the first time, if it is still named "Project1", a
  46. name based on the .tpr file name is now set (as in TIGCC IDE).
  47. * Disabled debugging and informational messages from libti*.
  48. KTIGCC 1.05 (2006-10-24):
  49. * Added missing -lkdeui to link line (needed for OS X).
  50. * Fixed RPM specfile dependency to work on FC6.
  51. KTIGCC 1.04 (2006-09-25):
  52. * Use explicit memset to zero the buffer in loadFileText because the C++ way
  53. doesn't seem to work on OS X.
  54. * Link all required KDE libraries explicitly instead of relying on the linker
  55. pulling them in (which the OS X linker doesn't do).
  56. * Use the .ui, .moc and .obj subdirectories on all platforms.
  57. * Don't try to set an rpath on OS X, it is neither supported nor needed.
  58. KTIGCC 1.03 (2006-09-17):
  59. * Don't show symbol info for reserved keywords even in the case of an exact
  60. match (fixes unhelpful prototype help for "asm").
  61. * Added workaround for rpmbuild 4.4.2 with tar 1.15.91 to make rpm target.
  62. KTIGCC 1.02 (2006-09-05):
  63. * Fixed inverted logic bug causing the Debug menu and toolbar buttons to get
  64. hidden during File/New/Project.
  65. * Fixed the Project Options dialog not reacting correctly to changing the target
  66. from a regular program to another target or the other way round.
  67. * Fixed detection of "??=" in source file splitting.
  68. * Fixed bug in source file splitting causing the float in x>=0. to get split.
  69. KTIGCC 1.01 (2006-08-21):
  70. * Find and Replace dialogs now remember history (but only for the current KTIGCC
  71. session).
  72. KTIGCC 1.00 (2006-08-20):
  73. * Added NEWS file containing the history information previously published in the
  74. changelog snippets on SourceForge.
  75. * Fixed moving files across file systems after compilation not working.
  76. * The RPM now associates .tpr files with KTIGCC in KDE and GNOME.
  77. KTIGCC 20060814 beta:
  78. Improvements:
  79. * Kate's automatic indentation (ENTER indents the new line
  80. the same as the old one) is now enabled.
  81. * The syntax highlighting descriptions are now
  82. automatically regenerated if they are missing or out of
  83. date.
  84. * Tab now reliably inserts a tab. Use Ctrl+I to indent the
  85. selection (or the current line). (The other Kate defaults
  86. were also changed to match TIGCC IDE more closely.)
  87. * Implemented coding template popups.
  88. * Implemented "Find symbol declaration".
  89. * Implemented Ctrl+Tab to switch between source files. As
  90. Ctrl+Tab is taken up by the default KDE shortcut
  91. settings, Ctrl+G can also be used.
  92. * Implemented completion on Ctrl+Space. As Ctrl+Space
  93. conflicts with X input methods, Ctrl+M can also be used.
  94. * Implemented prototype tooltips on opening a parenthesis.
  95. * Because of conflicts (Ctrl+F9 is reserved by KDE for
  96. virtual desktop switching, Ctrl+Alt+F9 and
  97. Shift+Ctrl+Alt+F9 by X.Org X11 for virtual console
  98. switching), F8 can now be used instead of Ctrl+F9. So F8
  99. is Make and Alt+F8 is Compile. The Ctrl+F9 and
  100. Ctrl+Alt+F9 combos are also supported if they reach
  101. KTIGCC.
  102. * Implemented the Shift+Ctrl+Alt+F9 (or Alt+Shift+F8, as
  103. per the above - note that you may have to press Alt first
  104. to get the combo recognized) combo (undocumented in TIGCC
  105. IDE) to switch transfer targets (TiEmu or real
  106. calculator) without going through the preferences.
  107. Bugfixes:
  108. * "New folder" wasn't always selecting the new folder for
  109. renaming. (Same for new files.)
  110. * Fixed file descriptor leak in loadFileText.
  111. * Opening the documentation could cause compilation and
  112. parsing (ctags) to lockup waiting for the external
  113. process (due to a conflict between Qt's and KDE's child
  114. process abstractions).
  115. Notes:
  116. * Debian (and derivate) users no longer need qt3-apps-dev
  117. to build KTIGCC.
  118. * The KTIGCC RPM now requires ktigcc-completion-data, which
  119. contains completion information for TIGCCLIB. KTIGCC
  120. itself will run without it, but warn you (and suggest
  121. either downloading it or generating it yourself from the
  122. documentation source code).
  123. KTIGCC 20060807 beta:
  124. Improvements:
  125. * Implemented customization of syntax highlighting.
  126. * The default projects directory (i.e. the directory the
  127. file dialogs are set to on startup) is now
  128. ~/tigcc-projects (where ~ stands for your home directory)
  129. instead of $TIGCC/projects (which is not writable out of
  130. the box for regular users in system-wide TIGCC setups).
  131. It is created on startup if it's not there.
  132. * The background color of list views and tree views is no
  133. longer hardcoded to white. (That was done to disable the
  134. alternating between 2 background colors, which is now
  135. disabled in a cleaner way.)
  136. Bugfixes:
  137. * KTIGCC now always adds a newline at the end of the
  138. temporary copies used for compiling, not just for C files
  139. (fixes warnings the Windows IDE filters out).
  140. * "Discard" in a save prompt no longer resets the
  141. "modified" flag, so if you don't actually close the
  142. file/project being prompted for (for example because
  143. you're just opening an out-of-project file rather than a
  144. project), you'll be prompted for saving again later.
  145. * "Save all" now saves out-of-project files only if they
  146. are actually modified (same as for in-project files).
  147. * Ctrl+C/Ctrl+Ins now work as expected when the error
  148. window is shown: They apply to the error window if it has
  149. the focus, and the main window otherwise.
  150. * KTIGCC now prompts for saving out-of-project source files
  151. before exiting.
  152. Note: The "Find symbol declaration" menu entry has been
  153. hidden because it is not implemented yet.
  154. KTIGCC 20060731 alpha:
  155. * TIGCC/*nix 0.96 Beta 7 r1 is now required. This allows
  156. KTIGCC to link compressed programs with an external data
  157. file only once. (It used to link them twice to work
  158. around a now-fixed ld-tigcc limitation.)
  159. * Implemented the following menu items:
  160. - Find / Open file at cursor
  161. - Help / News
  162. - the Tools menu
  163. * Fixed 2 path handling bugs:
  164. - files already having an absolute path were mishandled
  165. when saving a new project for the first time
  166. - file names passed on the command line were not
  167. converted to absolute paths, causing problems
  168. KTIGCC 20060723 alpha:
  169. KTIGCC now requires the 20060723 snapshot of libti* and
  170. TiEmu and makes use of its improvements. In particular:
  171. * faster transfers to TiEmu: sending to TiEmu now longer
  172. requires a harcoded 12-second wait. Instead, TiEmu now
  173. reports by itself whether the emulated calculator is ready
  174. or not. Thus, if TiEmu was already started, or if you have
  175. a fast computer and "restrict to actual speed" unchecked,
  176. the wait will be much less than 12 seconds.
  177. * the source code for linking has been simplified by using
  178. the new libticalcs2 APIs and dropping the compatibility
  179. workaround for the new libticables2 ticables_is_usb_enabled
  180. function.
  181. I have also fixed the test for qassistantclient.h to work
  182. on Debian and derivates.
  183. KTIGCC 20060720 alpha:
  184. * Implemented Find/Functions (both the dialog and the
  185. toolbar dropdown).
  186. * Exuberant Ctags (http://ctags.sourceforge.net) is now a
  187. runtime requirement, used to locate C prototypes and
  188. functions.
  189. * Pushbuttons for standard actions (OK, Cancel, Close) now
  190. show icons next to the text if KDE has been configured that
  191. way.
  192. * Fixed "use system icons" not to pad icons to 32x32.
  193. * "Use system icons" is now the default, this can be
  194. changed in the preferences.
  195. KTIGCC 20060717 alpha:
  196. Fixed bugs in compiling:
  197. * The hack to fix ld-tigcc's output so "Program Variable
  198. Name" is in the correct character set was always
  199. adding "main\" because it checked for / instead of \ as the
  200. path separator.
  201. * External data file support for compressed programs was
  202. completely broken.
  203. * Opening a modal dialog during compilation could crash
  204. KTIGCC.
  205. Fixed Remove on a directory to prompt for saving for all
  206. modified files in the directory. Pressing Del in the file
  207. tree is now equivalent to Remove.
  208. Implemented the Debug menu.
  209. libtifiles2 and libticalcs2 are now required too.
  210. KTIGCC 20060715 alpha:
  211. KTIGCC can now compile projects (compile sources into object files and link them
  212. into executables or static libraries, i.e. the Project menu is now complete).
  213. KDElibs 3.5.2 or higher are now required.
  214. KTIGCC 20060626 alpha:
  215. KTIGCC can now open source files not belonging to a project in detached source
  216. file windows.
  217. KTIGCC 20060622 alpha:
  218. This is the first snapshot of KTIGCC.
