  1. Buildroot is a simple, efficient and easy-to-use tool to generate embedded
  2. Linux systems through cross-compilation.
  3. The documentation can be found in docs/manual. You can generate a text
  4. document with 'make manual-text' and read output/docs/manual/manual.text.
  5. Online documentation can be found at http://buildroot.org/docs.html
  6. To build and use the buildroot stuff, do the following:
  7. 1) run 'make menuconfig'
  8. 2) select the target architecture and the packages you wish to compile
  9. 3) run 'make'
  10. 4) wait while it compiles
  11. 5) find the kernel, bootloader, root filesystem, etc. in output/images
  12. You do not need to be root to build or run buildroot. Have fun!
  13. Buildroot comes with a basic configuration for a number of boards. Run
  14. 'make list-defconfigs' to view the list of provided configurations.
  15. Please feed suggestions, bug reports, insults, and bribes back to the
  16. buildroot mailing list: buildroot@buildroot.org
  17. You can also find us on #buildroot on Freenode IRC.
  18. If you would like to contribute patches, please read
  19. https://buildroot.org/manual.html#submitting-patches
